Christian Education

Christian Ed Primary Team ages 6-13
We teach from Living the Good News, a lectionary based curriculum which translates Lessons and Gospel into language children can easily understand. Through creative activities, artwork and cooperative play the students learn how these Christian principles relate to their lives. This framework leads the children to a deeper understanding of the teachings of the Bible and encourages discussion and exploration of their meaning and contemporary applications. We reinforce the fact that they are important members of the parish community through participation in outreach activities.

Rite 13 for Middle School Students aged 12-14
This program provides an age appropriate introduction to the J2A program.

The Journey to Adulthood (J2A) program is designed for youth ages 15 to 17.  The two guiding principles are:

1. Manhood and Womanhood are free gifts from God.

2. Adulthood must be earned.

The goals of J2A are to celebrate the transition from youth to adulthood, to train young people in the skills of adulthood, to explore the mystery of our faith heritage and to establish our experience in the strength of community and liturgy.  The four areas of discovery are Self – giving young people the vocabulary and set of experiences which will enable them to understand and to articulate their emerging selves; Sexuality – how it affects our lives; Spirituality – looking at the actual disciplines which comprise a faithful life; and Society – exploring the ways in which groups define themselves.
